Orthotics help most people.

Picture
There are many reasons people use orthotics and they can help people with a variety of problems.

I have a mentor who often says "Fifty percent of your patients absolutely NEED a pair of orthotics, the other 50% of them will merely benefit tremendously from having them. "

I have been custom-fitting orthotics since 1998.  The focus of my particular type of orthotics are to improve the bio-mechanics of the weight bearing joints, beginning with the foot and ankle.  Custom orthotics balance and redistribute weight and mechanical load to a more perfect and natural posture, thus reducing stress, strain, inflammation and pain.

Call 415 922 2225 today to schedule a complimentary consultation to find out how custom orthotics can help you.

Custom Orthotics Vs. Commercially available ones.

Why Custom Orthotics ?

Custom foot orthotics are specialized medical devices that are made specifically to support any misalignment of your feet. A one-size fits all approach is just not realistic considering the spectrum of possible normal variations in people's feet. Foot orthotics fit into your shoes and are to be worn while performing most of your regular activities. Orthotics support the joints and bones of the foot, creating a more stable platform while standing and while you are in motion.

Proper custom orthotics should support normal pronation (inward roll of the foot) and supination (outward roll of the foot) and make standing, walking and running more comfortable and effective.  Orthotics  are designed to stabilize the weight bearing joints of the legs (foot, ankle, knee, and hip), pelvis, and lower back. A good pair of orthotics can in many cases redistribute pressure to alleviate pain in the pelvis and lower back.

Over the counter/Store bought orthotics are a one size fits all approach. They may in fact help some of the population but are just not in the same league as a custom fitted orthotic that is made specifically for your  foot by a licensed professional.
