I didn't know where to go or who to turn to with this problem so, I started with a podiatrist who recommended the hard orthotics. He made a mold of my feet with a plaster cast, then sent the cast off somewhere where they made a reverse mold of my feet then made orthotics to fit that mold.
I was told by the podiatrist to wear these hard orthotics as much as I could stand increasing the time each day until I was used to them. I don't know that I ever got used to them as there was no change to my daily foot pain in fact if anything it seemed to hurt faster with the orthotics I got from the podiatrist.
A friend of mine who also works on her feet had gotten some of the soft ones from Dr. Camp and she recommended I try them. When I met Dr. Camp he told me almost the opposite that the podiatrist told me. He explained that making a mold of my feet sitting down, then making a mold of the mold, than making an orthotic to fit the mold of the mold of my sitting down foot was to many steps removed.
His product works backwards, it molds itself to your foot while you are standing on it so its actually a mold of your foot how you actually stand. Its firm but soft. Yes I know it sounds odd but the truth of the matter is, I was able to wear them all day right away and they help. He also did some Chiropractic to my knees that helped immediately.
I asked him to post this because it was one of these stories that brought me to his office and I wanted to tell mine hoping someone would see it and make the same decision I did.
Take my advice and give these a try you will be glad you did.
